15-Year-Old From Dorchester Arrested On Gun Charges

A teenager is recovering in the hospital from a gunshot wound after Boston police nabbed a 15-year-old from Dorchester on gun charges.

BOSTON — Boston police have arrested a 15-year-old from Dorchester for unlawful possession of a firearm, just as another teenager was found suffering from a gunshot wound Monday night.

Police responded to a report of a group of teenagers fighting in the area of Tennis Road and Blue Hill Avenue near Almont Park in Mattapan.

Once police arrived, the group of teenagers fled the scene on foot. A few minutes later, police say they heard six to eight gunshots fired near the area.

Two suspects were then seen fleeing towards Favre Street on bicycles before one of them ditched a fanny pack with a gun inside.

Police chased the two until they were able to apprehend the 15-year-old, placing him under arrest for unlawful possession of a firearm, but the other got away.

After the arrest, officers were made aware of a teenaged victim in Almont Park suffering from an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Boston EMS responded to the scene and brought the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

The 15-year-old is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
