3 Boston Police Officers Shot, Suspect Killed In Standoff

The officers are expected to survive after the Dorchester shooting.

BOSTON — Three police officers shot Tuesday afternoon following an hours-long standoff in Dorchester are expected to survive.

A suspect was killed after being shot by officers, authorities said.

Police were called to a Ferndale Street home around 9:30 a.m. for a report of a man with a gun threatening people, Acting Boston Police Commissioner Gregory Long told reporters.

"My prayers are with the injured officers, their loved ones & those in our community who have had to face violence & trauma in our neighborhoods in the past week," Mayor-elect Michelle Wu tweeted.

Tuesday's shootings were the latest act of violence against Boston police. An officer was stabbed while responding to a call in Dorchester on Saturday.
