2 Injured, 18 Displaced By Boston Fire: Authorities

Several pets were also displaced, authorities said.

BOSTON — Two people required medical care and 18 were displaced by a fire Tuesday night at a multi-family building in Dorchester, according to authorities.

The blaze was burning on all three floors of the rear porches of the Beckett Street building as of about 7 p.m., authorities said. Within 30 minutes, all the porches were burnt through. By 8 p.m., the fire was knocked down, according to the Boston Fire Department.

Two residents were taken to receive medical care, and 18 people and several pets were displaced, authorities said.
