Airline Mixes Up 5-Year-Olds, Mistakenly Sends Boy to Boston
"I thought he was kidnapped," the boy's distraught mother said in a New York Daily News exclusive.
BOSTON, MA — A Manhattan 5-year-old flying home from a family trip landed in Boston by mistake, panicking his mother and prompting a lawsuit, according to the New York Daily News.
In a splashy front-page spread, the tabloid chronicles the confusion by JetBlue, which reportedly flew young Andy Martinez Mercado to Boston after mistaking him for another 5-year-old. The airline, which was paid an extra fee to escort her minor son, then brought a different boy to Martinez Mercado's mother, Maribel Martinez.
“I thought he was kidnapped,” Martinez told the paper. “I thought I would never see him again.”
