All Amtrak Service Between Boston And Washington, D.C. Cancelled

As severe weather from Ida travels through the Northeast, Amtrak suspends services from Boston to Washington, D.C. for the rest of the day.

BOSTON — Amtrak has canceled all service Thursday between Boston and Washington, D.C. after severe weather continues to threaten the Northeast.

Record-breaking rains from Hurricane Ida caused extensive train delays throughout New York City, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., and other areas throughout the Northeast.

The transportation service has already canceled and delayed multiple trains this week in preparation for Ida.

Cancellations from the weekend come 16 years after Hurricane Katrina made landfall near New Orleans on August 29, 2005.
