Boston Area's Best High Schools, Ranked

Public and charter — here's Boston Magazine's annual list of its picks for best in the Greater Boston area.

BOSTON, MA — If you've recently sneaked a peek at the magazine rack of your local grocery store, you've no doubt noticed the big red apple on the cover of Boston Magazine, heralding this year's edition of its annual "best-of" list for high schools in the Boston area.

Additionally, in conjunction with this year's rankings, the magazine delved into the dicey questions of charter vs. public schools. You can read that cover story here: The Great Charter Debate.

We've rounded up the overall top five below, for both public and charter schools, but you need to get yourself over to the magazine's site for the full list, methodology and wonderfully sortable rankings you can tailor to your child's needs by class size, SAT score and more.
