Boston Apple Picking Guide 2017

Apple picking is one of everyone's favorite fall activities, and the time for it has finally arrived. Orchards across the state are bursting with apples just waiting to be picked by you and your family. In addition to apple picking, there are plenty of other fun fall activities for everyone to enjoy.

So get out of the city for a day and head to one of Massachusetts' great orchards to get some quality apples and have plenty of fun in the process.

If you're unsure about where to go, Patch has you covered. Below you can find some of the best orchards around for you to enjoy. You'll have to get out and drive a little to get to these.

Do not forget to call these orchards ahead of time to confirm hours, availability of apples, and to ask any other questions you may have.

Belkin Family Lookout Farm

• 89 Pleasant Street in South Natick.
• Open daily from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Apple picking season at Belkin began in early September and normally runs through October.

Brooksby Farm

• 54 Felton Street in Peabody.
• Open daily from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.
• Apple picking began on September 9th and usually normally runs to October 9th, depending on availability of produce.

Dowse Orchards

• 98 North Main Street in Sherborn.
• Open Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM
• Different varieties of apples are ready at different points of the season, be sure to check with the orchard to ensure the type you want is ready to be picked.

Connors Farm

• 30 Valley Road in Danvers.
• Open daily from 7:00 AM-6:00 PM
• In addition to apple picking, there are plenty of other fun fall activities like a corn maze, a pumpkin patch and more! You can find a full list of offerings here.

Boston Hill Farm

• 1370 Turnpike Street in North Andover.
• Open daily from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, apple orchard is open from 10:00 AM-5:15 PM
• Apple picking at Boston Hill Farm begins on September 16th and will run through the end of October.

Highland Farm Orchard

• 635 Highland Street in Holliston
• Open daily from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Apple picking season at Highland Farm will begin on September 20th.

Honeypot Hill Orchards

• 138 Sudbury Road in Stow.
• Open daily from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, pick your own is open form 9:30 AM-5:00 PM.
• Apple picking has officially begun and pears are also available to be picked.

Shelburne Farm

• 106 W. Acton Road in Stow.
• Open daily from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM
• Apple picking at Shelburne began in late August and will run through early November
