Boston Cat Cafe Approved To Open This Spring

The purrrrrrfect idea? Or not fur you? Let us know your thoughts!

BOSTON, MA — Boston's fur-st ever cat café is purring right along, passing its city zoning/occupancy hearing Tuesday, according to a post on Purr Therapy's Facebook page.

On its website, Purr Café describes itself as "a safe haven for homeless cats until they find their forever home. PURR will be working with local Boston animal shelters to find these cats homes. While the cats are with us, we will strive to offer a safe, healthy, ultimate playground for all our cats. We will also work diligently to provide a great environment for our hooman friends to enjoy the company of our cats."

There are still a few hoops yet to jump through, as The Boston Globe first reported, but the café plans to open at 167 Chestnut Hill Ave., in Brighton, hopefully by early spring, according to posts on its Facebook page.
