A unique bakery in Boston's South End is dedicated to feeding pets with the best ingredients and bringing attention to dogs in need of a forever home.

Polkadog was founded in 2002 in honor of a one-eyed rescue dog named Pearl. She's since become the face of Polkadog Bakery because the founders wanted to feed her only the best ingredients.
"What else makes us really unique is that we make our own treats," said marketing director Kelsey Sora. "So right down the road at the Boston Fish Pier, we hand roll, slowly dehydrate all of our treats, pack them up, send them here and other independent pet stores across the country.
