Boston Police Officer Injured In Dorchester Cruiser Crash

A Boston police officer and three others have been sent to the hospital after a violent crash between a police cruiser and tractor-trailer.

The four victims of the crash have been taken to local hospitals, but the nature of their injuries has not been revealed.

BOSTON — Four people, including a Boston police officer, were injured in a crash on Mass Ave in Dorchester Tuesday afternoon.

Boston Police say officers responded to a reported crash at the intersection of Mass Avenue and Enterprise Street around 1:30 p.m. finding a Boston police car crushed under the back end of a tractor-trailer.

Police report that the officer was responding to a call for a report of a suspect with a gun when the accident happened.

The officer was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The three civilians were injured as well and were also transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

After the accident, other Boston police officers were able to respond to the initial call and ended up arresting a suspect with a gun.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
