Boston School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacations

BOSTON, MA — The first day of school in Boston is Septemeber 6 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Boston School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

September

• 9/6: First Day of School (Grades 1-12)
• 9/11: First Day of School (Kindergarten)

October

• 10/8: No School (Columbus Day)

November

• 11/12: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/21: Early Release Day
• 11/22 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/24 - 12/31: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/2: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/3: Classes Resume
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/18 - 2/22: No School (Winter Recess)
• 2/25: Classes Resume

April

• 4/15: No School (Patriots' Day)
• 4/16 - 4/19: No School (Spring Recess)
• 4/22: Classes Resume

May

• 5/27: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/4: Last Day for Seniors
• 6/17: Early Release
• 6/18: Last Day of School
