Frosé, Oysters And Ice Cream: Where To Eat And Drink This Weekend

"Boston Foodies" blogger Tiffany Lopinsky has some mouthwatering suggestions on where to sip and dine around the city.

The forecast for this weekend in Boston is 80 degrees and sunny. In my book, that calls for frosé, oysters and ice cream — preferably outside!

Wondering where the best spots are to make this happen? Check out some of my recommendations for restaurants and eateries in and around Boston to enjoy this weekend.

Dinner & Drinks Outside

Take this weekend's weather as an opportunity to enjoy dinner and drinks outside on one of the many beautiful patios in the Boston area. Try Cafeteria Boston on Newbury Street or Bistro du Midi by the Common if you like the hustle and the bustle of tourists and locals. If you’re looking for something more secluded try SRV in the South End, Benedetto in Harvard Square, or ArtBar in East Cambridge.

Frosé

While National Rosé Day is now behind us, rosé is here to stay (for the summer at least!). It’s becoming almost ubiquitous at bars and restaurants throughout the city, but a few spots where you can find it include Frenchie in the South End, Sonsie on Newbury Street, and Bastille Kitchen in Fort Point.

Oysters

If you’re looking for something to pair with that frosé, grab a plate of oysters to share with friends. Check out Boston favorite Island Creek Oyster Bar or their sister restaurant, Row 34.

Ice Cream

What’s the thing everyone’s craving on an 80 degree day in Boston (other than Frosé, of course)? Ice cream! And there are so many wonderful, locally owned shops in the city. Try a local favorite, J.P. Licks, which has several shops throughout the city. Their flavors of the month include Fresh Strawberry Rhubarb, Wild Maine Blueberry Sorbet, and Salted Caramel Cookies ’n’ Cream. Also check out Toscanini’s, a beloved spot serving unique flavors of homemade ice cream. They opened up a new location in East Cambridge earlier this year.

Outdoor Market

It’s the perfect weekend to check out SoWa Open Market in the South End. The weekly market features a Food Truck Bazaar with some of the city’s most beloved trucks — Bon Me, Stoked Wood Fired Pizza, The Dining Car and more. SoWa also debuted a beautiful new Beer Barn this season, which features a curated selection of local beers, popsicles from Wild Pops in Jamaica Plain, games and live music.
