Brussels Sprouts: Where To Get The Season's Best Veggie In Boston
Roasted or fried, sweet or salty, grab a plate of Brussels sprouts at one of these Boston-area restaurants this weekend.

Now that we’re nearly a week into fall, brace yourself for pumpkin spice everything — lattes, ice cream, waffles, and more — pretty much everything and anything you can imagine. But sometimes we forget, pumpkin isn’t the only produce that harvests in the fall. Personally, Brussels sprouts are my thing, and I’ve been on a campaign for years to get this veggie the recognition it deserves, especially in the fall. Here I’ve rounded up some of my favorite spots in the city to enjoy this season’s best vegetable. Roasted or fried, sweet or salty, we’ve got Brussels sprouts for everyone.
Boston Chops
If you’re as Brussels sprouts obsessed as I am, you’ll know that most steakhouses serve them as a side dish, often putting their own unique spin on them. At Boston Chops, a great steakhouse with locations in the South End and Downtown Crossing, their sprouts clearly don’t seem like an after thought. I crave their bacon roasted Brussels sprouts nearly as much as I crave their perfectly cooked steaks.
Cambridge Brewing Company
What do fried Brussels sprouts go best with? At Cambridge Brewing Company in Kendall Square, the answer is beer! Stop by CBC to try their impressively plated fried sprouts with curry mayo, and pair it with your favorite brew.

Brassica
At this wonderful spot in Jamaica Plain, you’ll find some of the tastiest Brussels sprouts in the city. Brassica makes their sprouts with maple, lemon and miso, for a perfectly sweet and salty side plate.
Sarma
Sarma is one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and part of what I love most about them is how they make vegetables taste so great. I always say that I could never be a vegetarian, unless I could eat every meal at Sarma, where all of their vegetables, including their Brussels sprouts, are seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Whole Heart Provisions
Stop by this super healthy spot for one of their signature veggie bowls and pair it with a side of their crispy old bay Brussels sprouts, made with lemon and a spicy crema. You can check out Whole Heart Provisions in Allston, Central Square, and Harvard Square for your Brussels sprouts fix.

Coppa
We all have our ways that we find inner peace in this hectic world, and for me, that’s most easily achieved by enjoying a cheese plate and a side of Brussels sprouts at one of my go-to Boston spots. I love doing this at Coppa, a quaint Italian restaurant in the South End, where I don’t believe you can ever have a bad meal.
