Celtics Honor Boston 'Hero Among Us' Anthony Meeks
Meeks crusades against neighborhood violence and counsels impacted families.
BOSTON, MA — Anthony Meeks, a crusader against neighborhood violence, was honored for his work in Dorchester on the court at TD Garden Tuesday night as the Boston Celtics faced off against the Utah Jazz.
Meeks was honored as part of the Celtics' Heroes Among Us program. Since 1997, the program has recognized outstanding individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to their communities. The award is presented at every Celtics home game and pays tribute to the heroic achievements of these outstanding citizens.

Seeing the painful effects of crime on our community, Dorchester native Anthony Meeks has dedicated his life to ending violence in Boston and helping families during their most difficult times.
As a member of the Dorchester’s Streetworker program, Anthony works tirelessly to build relationships with high risk individuals and show them opportunities for education, healthcare, and employment. When tragedies occur, Anthony counsels survivors and ensures families receive resources to deal with trauma.
During his 15 years of service Anthony has positively impacted thousands of Boston families as he continues to work for peace.
