BOSTON — Congressman Stephen Lynch tested positive for COVID-19 Friday, even after receiving a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and testing negative before President Joe Biden's inauguration, according to his office.

"U.S. Representative Stephen F. Lynch received a positive test result for COVID-19 after a staff member in the Congressman’s Boston office had tested positive earlier in the week," said Molly Rose Tarpey who is a spokesperson for his office. "Congressman Lynch had received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and subsequently received a negative COVID-19 test prior to attending President Biden’s Inauguration."

He's the second member of the MA delegation to test positive this week. On Thursday, Rep. Lori Trahan tested positive for the virus. Both Trahan and Lynch are asymptomatic, according to their offices. Lynch's communication director said he plans to vote by proxy in Congress next week.
