Crash Closes Lanes in O'Neill Tunnel

Expect serious delays Wednesday morning.

MassDOT reports a Wednesday morning crash inside the O'Neill Tunnel, likely causing major delays for the morning commute.

Reported by MassDOT as a truck crash and by FOX 25 as a multi-car crash, the incident occurred on I-93 northbound at the Mass. Pike. MassDOT has since indicated there were two crashes -- one at the tunnel's mouth, and another inside.

That first has been cleared, according to MassDOT, but the second is still wreaking havoc on commute times.

Two left lanes remain closed inside the tunnel as of 8:30 a.m., MassDOT said. The right lane remains open to traffic.

FOX 25 reports drive times are topping two hours, as a result of the crash.
