Even More Millionaires in Mass.: Here's Where You'll Find Them
New numbers from the state show Massachusetts' millionaires are growing in number. Here's where they congregate.

Millionaires are almost everywhere, if you just know where to look, and Massachusetts has more than ever.
New state data for the most recent available year, 2014, shows that 15,422 residents reported an adjusted annual income of $1 million or more to Massachusetts. Including taxpayers living out of state, the number is more than 17,000. They total nearly $62 billion in earnings between them, according to data from the state Department of Revenue.
It's a growing number.

The Boston Globe reports that in 2013, the state recorded 12,598 residents who earned more than $1 million. In 2004, that number was a mere 7,895 — just more than half the 2014 total.
Statewide, 28 municipalities had 100 or more millionaires living within city limits, according to that same 2014 state data. Other places, like Wakefield or Orange, have fewer than four resident millionaires and are not included in the state data.
