Fugitive Child Rape Defendant Held on $1 Million Bail
The former Dorchester man was reportedly found 23 years after his initial indictment, living under an alias in North Carolina.

BOSTON, MA — A former Dorchester man accused of repeatedly raping two young boys was arraigned Tuesday, then held on a $1 million bail.
John Hartin is charged with five counts of child rape. Should he post that million-dollar bail, he must wear a GPS monitor and stay away from the victims, witnesses, and all children under 18, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.
The victims were six and nine when the alleged abuse took place.
