Hundreds March Against Dakota Access Pipeline in Downtown Boston
The mass rally is separate from a planned march against Donald Trump, organizers told police.
BOSTON, MA — Hundreds rallied in Boston Wednesday in protest of the Dakota Access Pipeline, banging drums and chanting as they marched through Downtown Crossing and Boston Common into Back Bay.
NoDAPL supports the North Dakota Sioux tribe’s fight against a proposed pipeline near their land.
Boston Police didn't have an immediate estimate on crowd-size.

The march was separate from a planned protest also taking place on the Common tonight against Donald Trump.
According to event organizers on Facebook, "Through the power of prayer, we are peacefully demanding the financial industry's complete divestment of funds from DAPL. ... As construction of Dakota Access Pipeline nears the Missouri River -- destroying the sacred sites of Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and threatening the drinking water of millions -- there are no rooms in America more desperate for purification and positive energy right now than the bank lobbies of Citibank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, PNC Bank, US Bank, and other major banks investing in DAPL."
