Infant Son Of Bruins' Pastrnak Dies: 'You Will Be Loved Forever'

BOSTON — Condolences from around sports are pouring in after Bruins star David Pastrnak revealed he and his wife lost their infant son.

Viggo Rohl Pastrnak was just six days old when he died June 23.

"We have an Angel watching over us and we call him SON," Pastrnak wrote in a brief Instagram post Monday morning. "You will be loved FOREVER. Please respect our privacy as we are going through these heartbreaking times."

Fans and members of the National Hockey League joined Monday in offering condolences to Pastrnak's loss.

"We are heartbroken by the passing of David and Rebecca's son, Viggo," the Bruins said.

The 25-year-old Pastrnak, affectionately known as "Pasta" to Bruins fans, has credited his late father as his inspiration for becoming a hockey player. Milan Pastrnak died of cancer in 2013.
