Longwood Building Evacuated After Chemical Spill: Boston Fire
Hazmat crews were called in after someone reported a chemical solvent spill on the tenth floor.

BOSTON, MA — Hazmat crews were called to a hospital building in the Longwood area for a chemical spill around 4:20 p.m. Monday.
Early reports indicated there was a Xylene spill in a Hospital at 70 Shattuck Street, that prompted a Level 2 Hazmat response.
Fire officials said the spill happened on the tenth floor, and out of precaution they evacuated that floors and the floor immediately above and below, while they clean up.

Fire officials said there were no exposure or injuries, related to the spill.
Xylene is toxic if inhaled or makes contact with the skin.
