MA Governor Healey Appoints Bonnie Heiple DEP Commissioner
Heiple has worked in litigation, regulatory compliance, and environmental, social, and governance issues.

BOSTON, MA – Bonnie Heiple has been appointed Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, announced Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Rebecca L. Tepper in a news release today.
“Massachusetts residents should know that they have a leader at MassDEP who will protect their communities,” said Governor Maura Healey in the news release. “As commissioner, Bonnie Heiple will be focused on protecting our residents and our most precious resources from harmful contaminants and the threats of a changing climate. We’re thrilled to welcome Bonnie to the Healey-Driscoll Administration.”
Heiple joins MassDEP from the law firm Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, where she practiced environmental and energy law nationally.

A graduate of the Boston University School of Law and Bucknell University, Heiple has worked in litigation, regulatory compliance, and in areas such as environmental, social, and governance issues.
