MA Weather: Snow Totals, More Snow On The Way, How Much, When

The snow may be dwindling but round two is just around the corner, so don't put away the snow shovels just yet. A second storm could bring as much as 10 inches of heavy snow to parts of the state making the Monday commute tricky.

The National Weather Service has put a Winter Storm Watch in effect from Sunday evening to Monday morning for parts of Essex, Norfolk, Middlesex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Bristol and Plymouth counties in Massachusetts. The watch is also for parts of Providence and Kent county in Rhode Island.

The weather service is already warning folks that the commute to work on Monday could be slick.

Forecasters expect the rest of the day to be mostly cloudy, with a low around 24 as snow tapers off. Then tonight a high near 39, which could help melt what's on the ground.

But that won't last long. Forecasters expect that about 4 a.m. much of eastern part of the state will see rain turning to snow Sunday morning. This heavy wet snow is expected to add 3 to 5 inches of the white stuff in the Boston area.

Monday much of the state should see more rain and more snow before the morning commute and a chance of it continuing through noon, complete with some wind gusts of up to 28 mph.

Forecasters predicted up to 6 inches of snow for Saturday, but it looks like that didn't quite pan out.
