Macy's Tree-Lighting, Santa Sightings and More: Downtown Boston Black Friday
Santa Claus, musicians, a Patriots player and children's activities await.

BOSTON, MA — Look forward to a tree-lighting, Black Friday deals and much more as Macy's kicks off the holiday season in Downtown Crossing on Nov. 25.
The Downtown Boston Business Improvement District shared iconic department store Macy's plans in a post Tuesday:
Macy's Holiday Tree Lighting is so much more than a tree lighting on Black Friday. There are children's events, performances by famous musicians and at least one New England Patriot player. At noon the Kids Department (lower level) will have holiday activities for children of all ages. Face painting, balloon art, Santa and his elves.
At 2 p.m. children can meet Chippy and the Snowflake at the Kids Department for a special holiday reading circle.
At 5 p.m. the Macy's holiday windows will be displayed and the Christmas tree will be lit. There will be performances by the Boston Children's Chorus, Youtube sensation Jacob Whitesides, trumpeter and Chair of Brass at Berklee College Sean Jones, pop musician JoJo, as well as hip-hop's Doug E. Fresh. New England Patriot Martellus Bennett and Mayor Martin Walsh will also be on hand to honor the man of the hour — Santa Claus."
Macy's is in the heart of Downtown Crossing, on Summer Street at Washington. Nearby retailers include Primark, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx and more.
