BOSTON — Early Sunday morning a man threatened 7-Eleven employees with a knife after they confronted him for trying to shoplift food from the shop, according to police. He ran off with some food, but two hours later police found and arrested him, they said.

Just after midnight on Sunday, police said 7-Eleven employees saw a man trying to shoplift. When they confronted him, he began pushing them and then pulled out a knife.

Police said the man was gone by the time they got there. But later, while responding to a report of a disturbance on Causeway Street, police said they saw the man who matched the description of the suspect from the earlier assault at the State Street 7-Eleven. The man was identified and taken into custody and police said they found a knife in his pocket.
