Man Hospitalized After SWAT Team Standoff In Dorchester

DORCHESTER, MA — A man was taken to the hospital after a nearly hour-long standoff with police and members of a SWAT Team on Thursday afternoon in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

Members of the Boston police tactical team and SWAT Team members responded after receiving reports of a potentially armed and barricaded man inside the second floor of a Dorchester apartment in the area of 124 Stoughton Street in Dorchester just before 3:30 p.m.

Crisis negotiators worked with police and special agents while neighbors were evacuated from the street.

The man was taken out of the home just after 4:15 p.m. on a stretcher with police surrounding him as he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
