Is Boston in line for Another Corporate Coup?
Recently resurfaced reports suggest Gov. Baker is trying to lure another Connecticut corporate behemoth to follow in GE's footsteps.

HARTFORD, CT — Reports resurfaced this week that Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker may be working to woo another giant Connecticut corporation.
A year after General Electric picked up and moved house, Baker could be luring another behemoth across the border to Boston, reportedly in ongoing talks with Hartford health insurance giant Aetna Inc.
As our Hartford Patch reports, if the move occurs, it could cost Connecticut about 6,000 jobs. Aetna was founded in Hartford in 1853, and most recently reported quarterly revenue north of $15 billion.

Whether it's a full-on headquarters relocation or merely a matter of office space is up for debate. The Boston Business Journal, which first reported the Commonwealth's conversations with Aetna last year, most recently reports that Aetna has brought a real estate brokerage firm on board to explore the possibility of a "significant office presence in Boston." Its potential scope is unclear so far.
Additionally, as the Business Journal notes, Aetna has denied it has plans for a headquarters relocation. Still, it's tough to imagine that Baker and the rest won't give it the old college try, given their success in landing GE's new HQ last year.
