AmeriCorps awarded grants to 23 organizations that focus on conservation, housing and more across the Commonwealth.

BOSTON — AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and volunteerism, awarded a total of nearly $60 million to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the state congressional delegation announced Monday.
The funding will support 23 early childhood education, conservation and housing programs across the state. More than $3 million will go to the Massachusetts Service Alliance to help the group fund baby formula grants.
"Massachusetts has a strong tradition of young adults stepping up to serve their communities," Congresswoman Lori Trahan said. "This AmeriCorps grant funding will enable many organizations across the Commonwealth to continue promoting local community service."
