MassFiscal To Sponsor First MA GOP Gubernatorial Debate

BOSTON — The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance will be sponsoring the first Republican Gubernatorial Debate between former Whitman State Representative Geoff Diehl and Wrentham businessman Chris Doughty.

The debate is expected to take place live and on the air through the Howie Carr Show on Wednesday, July 20 at 6 p.m. with Carr serving as the moderator.

"This will be a great opportunity for Republican primary voters from every corner of Massachusetts to listen to these two candidates answer the questions that Republican primary voters actually care about," said Paul Diego Craney, spokesman for the Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance.

"MassFiscal is the state's leading advocacy non-profit organization and Howie Carr is the state's leading conservative opinion columnist, the debate sponsorship greatly benefits the candidates and Massachusetts voters," Craney continued.

The Howie Carr show is well-known throughout the Bay State, with its flagship station on WRKO 680 in Boston which the show airs every weekday between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

MassFiscal was established in 2012 as a non-partisan, IRS-recognized non-profit organization, that claims its primary focus is to promote social welfare. Most recently, MassFiscal was the leading voice to defeat Ranked Choice Voting during the last election and more recently was the leader in defeating Governor Charlie Baker's TCI gas tax scheme.
