Northeastern University To Require Weekly Covid Testing This Fall

As Northeastern preps for in-person learning this fall, the school will require weekly tests for all - regardless of vaccine status.

BOSTON — To maintain a healthy and safe environment on Northeastern University's campus this fall, leaders will be enforcing weekly COVID-19 tests for all - regardless of if a person has received a vaccine or not.

The school says they plan on full in-person learning this fall semester on their website.

Students, faculty, staff, and contract employees, regardless of vaccine status will have to undergo weekly COVID-19 tests. This decision was made as the school prepares to take on students from around the world, where vaccination rates and COVID-19 case counts may vary significantly.

The school says they will re-evaluate the testing plan in October using testing data and case rates.

“By doing testing, we will gather information in order to make the best science-based decisions we can,” says Ken Henderson, chancellor and senior vice president for learning at Northeastern.
