Overdose at W Hotel Leads Police to 142 Grams of Crystal Meth: DA
One man overdosed, and the second left behind a large vial of crystal meth, prosecutors allege.

BOSTON, MA — An overdose at a Theater District hotel Friday morning led police to uncover more than 100 grams of methamphetamines and arrest two men.
According to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office a 30-year-old from Everett and a Granby 23-year-old appeared Monday in Boston Municipal Court on charges of trafficking in more than 100 grams of methamphetamine. The 23-year-old was additionally arraigned on two counts of possession of a Class B substance.
Bail was set at $2,000, and the men were each ordered to submit to GPS monitoring and home confinement, and to stay away from the city of Boston, should they be released.

According to prosecutors, the two men were staying in a room at the W Hotel on Thursday night into Friday morning. Around 4:30 a.m. Friday, the Everett man allegedly overdosed on drugs and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The two were consequently evicted from their hotel room.
The Granby 23-year-old then collected their things and left, but prosecutors said hotel staff later discovered a container of cyrstal meth in a bag left inside a desk in the room that held a container of crystal meth. The two men returned to the hotel around the same time police were called, and officers spoke to them on the premises.

Police eventually determined the total amount of crystal meth to be 142 grams, found along with a small briefcase-style safe, a silver bowl with crystal meth residue, multiple Ziplock baggies, hypodermic needles, among other apparent drug paraphernalia.
Police arrested the two men based on these findings, additionally recovering a a suboxone strip pack and a small baggie of suspected cocaine, from the Granby man's pockets.
The two will return to court Oct. 5.
