Man Shot While Onboard Boston MBTA Bus

Boston police are investigating after they say a 30-year-old man was shot while riding inside an MBTA bus.

MATTAPAN, MA — Police confirm one person was shot while onboard an MBTA bus in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood Monday morning.

Officers responded to the area of 943 Morton Street after receiving a report of a person shot while on the bus around 10:25 a.m.

Once police got to the scene, they found a 30-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to the hospital with what police are calling non-life-threatening injuries.

A spokesperson from the Boston Police Department says they believe there was a verbal argument on the bus before shots were fired.

Transit police are on the scene with Boston police while they work to investigate the situation.

So far no arrests have been made, and there is no word on the extent of the person's injuries.
