Pedestrian Struck, Killed Near MBTA Stop In Boston

The crash happened around 5 a.m. in the area of Columbus Ave. and Richie St. near the Jackson Square stop in Roxbury.

BOSTON, MA — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed near an MBTA stop in Boston Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. in the area of Columbus Ave. and Richie St. near the Jackson Square stop in Roxbury, the Boston Police Department said.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Travelers were asked to avoid the area and all cars and buses were rerouted for several hours. Officials reopened the area to traffic at 10 a.m.
