BOSTON — The evening commute for some people who take the Tobin Bridge out of the city is about to get a bit longer.

Drivers who take Route 1 northbound should expect delays starting Wednesday night while crews start structural work on the bridge.

Mondays through Thursdays, one lane will be closed on the lower deck of the Tobin Bridge from 7 p.m. through 2 a.m., leaving two lanes open for traffic during the work, MassDOT said Wednesday.
