Prepare For A Rainy Mother's Day Weekend In Massachusetts

MASSACHUSETTS — If you have outdoor plans with Mom this weekend, be prepared to bring your raincoat. A storm from the middle of the country will make its way here for a chilly Mother's Day weekend.

What seems like a beautiful start to the weekend Thursday will quickly turn cloudy and rainy Friday and Saturday. Heavier winds Saturday coupled with the rain will cool temperatures by ten degrees overnight.

On Friday and Saturday, there will be a heavy chance of rain, and temperatures will drop throughout Massachusetts, but it should clear up by Sunday, Accuweather reported.

"There is likely to be a very sharp northern edge to the rain and a few dozen miles or less may be the dividing line between a thorough soaking, just clouds, and even partly sunny conditions from Friday to Saturday," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek said.

Thursday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. By Thursday night it will be mostly cloudy with a low around 47.

Friday

A chance of rain, mainly between 10 a.m. and noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent. By Friday night, there will be a slight chance of rain after midnight. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Saturday

High chance of rain, mainly before 2 p.m. It will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. Winds will pick up, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. By Saturday night, it will be mostly cloudy with a low around 44.

Sunday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. Potentially high wind gusts up to 30 mph. By Sunday night it will be partly cloudy, with a low around 43.
