Saltie Girl, Pammy's And More: Where To Snag A Table This Weekend

Take advantage of the summer lull by scoring a table at one of these hot Boston restaurants that are well worth the hype.

With so many people out of town during the summer, July can be one of the slowest months for restaurants.

Take the summer slowdown as an opportunity to try and score a hard-to-get table this weekend. Here are a few of my recommendations for some of Boston’s hottest restaurants.

Pammy’s

A table at Pammy’s has been hard to get since the moment it opened last summer. This lovely Italian restaurant just outside of Harvard Square has some of the most delicious and creative handmade pasta dishes I've tried in the Boston area. On top of that, they've got a charming space with marble tables, a tile fireplace and lots of plants. It's worth checking out — even if a reservation at 4:30 p.m. is all you can get.

Terra at Eataly

Another beautiful Italian restaurant, Terra at Eataly is a beloved spot on the third floor of Eataly Boston in the Back Bay. Its menu features handmade pasta dishes, a wonderful selection of charcuterie and so much more. You won’t be able to resist Instagramming their space, which is complete with ceiling windows, tile floors and hanging plants.

Blossom Bar

After opening at the beginning of this year, Blossom Bar in Brookline has quickly become one of the hottest cocktail destinations in the city. Award-winning bartender Ran Duan creates some of the most beautiful and tasty cocktails. Drinks are paired with a wide-ranging menu of Chinese food including traditional dishes like its Ma Paul Tofu and dan dan noodles, and Americanized plates like crab rangoon and scallion pancakes.

Saltie Girl

Saltie Girl is a small but delightful spot in the Back Bay with a delicious raw bar, an extensive menu of tinned fishes and a wide range of other seafood classics. With only four tables and a 12-seat bar, it can be hard to snag a table at this no-reservation restaurant. Try arriving early to beat the line!

The Table at Season to Taste

Another small yet mighty restaurant is The Table at Season to Taste in Cambridge. It's an intimate 20-seat restaurant offering four-course prix fixe menus. In this quaint, open-kitchen style restaurant you can watch "Top Chef" alum Carl Dooley as he and his team dazzle your taste buds.
