SJC Dismisses More Than 20,000 Drug Convictions

BOSTON, MA -- The state's highest court its final order today dismissing 21,587 drug cases linked to disgraced former state chemist Annie Dookhan.

“Today is a major victory for justice, fairness, and the tens of thousands of people who were wrongfully convicted based on fabricated evidence," ACLU of Massachusetts Executive Director Carol Rose wrote in a statement.

"After four years of intense work, we are proud to have been a part of the single largest dismissal of wrongful convictions in the nation’s history," she wrote.
