Video surveillance footage and additional evidence led Boston Police to arrest Almeida.

According to the DA's office, that evidence shows Almeida opened fired from down the block after the woman came outside, hitting Goncalves and the woman "multiple times before running from the scene."

The woman remains hospitalized with serious and possibly life-altering injuries, according to the DA's office.

Boston Police reportedly used a search warranted to recover from Almeida's frequent addresses clothing identical to those worn by the shooter in the surveillance footage, as well as two firearms.

The investigation into the shooting remains active, and police ask that anyone with additional information share it with Boston Police homicide detectives by calling 617-343-4470.
