Suspect in Fatal East Boston Stabbing Held Without Bail

The Dorchester 18-year-old was arraigned today.

BOSTON, MA — The suspect in last week's East Boston stabbing was held without bail Monday after appearing in East Boston Municipal and being arraigned on murder charges, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

Darius Barry, an 18-year-old from Dorchester, was arrested Saturday night by Boston Police, the DA's office said. He is accused in the Aug. 17 stabbing death of Gage Smith, 23, on Paris Street.

According to the District Attorney's office, Boston Police investigators determined that Barry and others pulled up in a vehicle next to Smith in the 200 block of Paris Street, "where the vehicle’s occupants exchanged words with Smith."
