Suspect Sought In Alleged Sexual Assault Near Long Wharf, Greenway: Police

Boston Police are seeking the public's help.

BOSTON, MA — Boston Police are seeking the public help finding a suspect wanted for a sexual assault reported near Long Wharf and the Greenway.

According to BPD, around 4:11 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a call for a report of a sexual assault in the area of State Street and Atlantic Ave. According to the victim, she was walking through the Greenway in the direction of the Greenway Carousel when an unknown male suspect approached her and sexually assaulted her. The victim describes the suspect as either a white or white Hispanic male, believed to be in his 40’s to 50’s with scruff on his face, about 5’5” tall, thin build, wearing a dark-colored Bruins jersey and a baseball hat. The victim told police the suspect fled in an unknown direction after the assault.

The Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with any information is asked to call detectives directly at (617) 343-4400. Community members wanting to assist this investigation anonymously can do so by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1(800)494-TIPS or by texting the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463). The Boston Police Department will stringently guard and protect the identities of all those who wish to help this investigation anonymously.
