Uber Driver Rams Into Wall of Beacon Hill Building: Police

The white vehicle was wedged into the wall between two buildings.

BOSTON, MA — A white SUV struck a building wall in Beacon Hill near the intersection of Grove and Myrtle Streets Wednesday afternoon.

The vehicle involved was with the Uber ride-hailing service, WHDH and NECN report, citing police.

Numerous fire and police vehicles arrived on-scene, and the corner was roped off around 3:15 p.m.

A police spokesperson said two people were transported to the hospital in connection with the incident, but did not have details on their conditions.

Multiple witnesses say the vehicle apparently sped up the street and into the wall. Shortly prior to the collision, a car could be heard accelerating, then apparently hitting its breaks before the sound of a crash.

A gaping hole remains after a tow truck successfully extricated the vehicle.
