Trump Says Harvard 'Ought To Be Ashamed' For Online-Only Approach
The president said Harvard's decision to offer only online courses for the 2020-21 school year is "ridiculous."

CAMBRIDGE, MA — Add Harvard to the list of things President Trump is railing against this week.
Speaking Tuesday afternoon in a White House roundtable event, Trump roasted the prestigious Ivy League school for moving all its courses online for the 2020-21 school year.
"They ought to be ashamed of themselves," Trump said, according to a pool report. He called it "ridiculous" and said Harvard was taking "the easy way out."

Trump has been banging on the hot button topic of whether and how to return to school in the fall amid the pandemic. "SCHOOLS MUST OPEN IN THE FALL!!!" Trump tweeted Monday.
Harvard announced Monday it would return only 40 percent of undergraduate students back to its Cambridge campus. All undergraduate and graduate students, whether or not they are on campus, will be taking online courses.

"The recent upturn in COVID-19 cases in certain states illustrates the difficulty of making predictions, even well-informed ones, about the evolution of this virus," Harvard President Lawrence Bacow said.
