Uber Offers Free Rides to Several Locations Following Orlando Shooting

"We want to bring people together, no matter who you are or where you're from."

In the wake of the massacre that took place at a gay club in Orlando, Uber is offering free rides to and from a list of locations that are important to the LGBT population in the Greater Boston Area.

Uber released the following statement:

Like people across the world, we were deeply shocked and saddened by the recent murders at a gay nightclub in Orlando. The world is a brighter and better place when we are all free to be ourselves. And we want to bring people together, no matter who you are or where you’re from.

To redeem the offer, users must request to be picked up and dropped off at one of the participating locations, and a discount of up to $20 will be automatically applied.

The offer is limited to two rides per person, and is valid Friday through 11:59 p.m. Monday.
