Will Halloween Weather Be A Trick Or Treat?
There's still a week and a half to go, but forecasts are coming out for Oct. 31.
Halloween's a week and a half away. Is it too early to check out the forecast for trick-or-treating? Probably, but let's do it anyways.
Oct. 31 is on a Sunday this year. The current Boston-area forecast on The Weather Channel calls for a high of 60 degrees, a low of 48 and 35 percent chance of precipitation. "Few showers" and 13 mile-per-hour winds, the forecast service says.
Halloween is the sixth of seven straight days with at least a 36-percent chance of rain to close out October. Again, there's 11 days for this change.

Still, it's been an unseasonably warm October. Temperatures Wednesday and Thursday were well into the 70s. In fact, it's been the warmest meteorological fall (from Sept. 1 to now) on record, according to WBZ, and the second-warmest October.
The first frost is yet to come, and if long-term forecasts hold steady, won't be here by Halloween. The first frost typically occurs in Massachusetts anywhere between late September late October, depending on where you are. But not one has been reported yet anywhere across the state.
