William Shakespeare Indicted in Boston Barbershop Murder
A Dedham man is accused of being the central player in a real-life tragedy.

BOSTON, MA — A Dedham man with a notable name was arrested in the Bronx early Tuesday morning, accused of gunning down 31-year-old Marcus Hall inside a Mattapan barber shop last summer.
Hall was found dead inside the Blue Hill Avenue barbershop on June 14, 2016, following what officials called a "brazen daytime murder." Boston Police Commissioner William Evans and Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley announced the arrest of the alleged culprit in a joint statement Tuesday.
William Shakespeare, 29, was apprehended through a joint effort between the Boston Police Fugitive Unit, US Marshals and New York City Police Department. The DA's office delivered a four-count indictment against Shakespeare in late 2016, secured from a Grand Jury.

Boston Police Homicide detectives and prosecutors from Conley’s office worked tirelessly investigating and ultimately identifying Shakespeare as the suspect responsible for this brazen daytime murder. The investigation led authorities to believe that Shakespeare fled the state shortly after the murder to avoid capture.
Shakespeare is being processed in New York awaiting extradition back to Boston. Upon his return, he will be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on charges of first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm.
... An arraignment date has not yet been scheduled, the DA's office said.
