1 Injured In Braintree Shooting

Braintree officials are investigating a West Street shooting that left one person injured.

BRAINTREE, MA — A weekend Braintree shooting is under investigation, police officials said.

A 911 caller reported that he was shot at 800 West St. at 3 p.m. on Friday, officials said. Several officers responded and found a male suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was treated by Braintree police officers, firefighters, and paramedics, officials said. He was taken to an area hospital with injuries that don't appear to be life-threatening.

"The circumstances of the shooting are still being investigated but police do not believe there
is any ongoing threat to the public," police said.
