The 2018 Braintree State Primary By The Numbers
Here are some numbers about Tuesday's vote in Braintree.

BRAINTREE, MA — The 2018 Massachusetts Primary is in the books and while other parts of the state saw big upsets and races that are too close to call, it was a relatively quiet day in Braintree.
About 21.79 percent of registered voters in Braintree chose to cast their ballot for the primary. Here are some numbers about the vote in Braintree:
- 6,006: The total amount of Braintree residents who voted in Tuesday's election. It's an improvement over the 2016 primary which had minimal candidates and drew only 1,860 voters and 2014's 4,710.
- 8: The number of contested races on both the Democratic and Republican ballots. Only both governor's races, the Democratic lieutenant governor's race, the Democratic congressional race, the Democratic secretary of state race, the Democratic Governor's Council race, and the Republican attorney general's race had more than one candidate.
- 2,911: The number of votes Democratic Attorney General Maura Healey received in her uncontested primary. No other candidate in Braintree received more votes. Lieutenant Governor Karen Polito got the most on the Republican side, netting 1,618 votes in her uncontested race.
Voters will be asked to return to the polls for the general election on Nov. 6.
