31 Apply For Braintree HS Headmaster Opening

Three candidates will be interviewed this week, Superintendent Frank Hackett said.

BRAINTREE, MA — More than two-and-a-half dozen resumes were received during the second run at filling the Braintree High School headmaster position, Superintendent Frank Hackett said at Monday’s school committee meeting.

Updating the committee, Hackett said there were 31 applicants, including many who also applied during the original search. Of those 31, three were chosen for interviews, which will take place Wednesday. The committee and public will be informed of a decision once it is made.

The search is the school district’s second attempt to fill the position. Outgoing Norwood High School Principal Jonathan Borne was the finalist for the opening, but Hackett later opted to restart the search for reasons not publicly stated.

The opening was created when James Lee was promoted to assistant superintendent. Andrew Delery, who was a housemaster, has been the interim headmaster this year.
