Braintree Awarded 'Best Stormwater Idea In New England'

BRAINTREE, MA — Braintree has been recognized with a niche but important award.

The town's "Visualizing Stormwater Infiltration Through Art" project was named the "Best Stormwater Idea in New England" during the 2024 Stormy Awards, the town announced recently.

The project comes from the Department of Public Works Stormwater Manager, Hillary Waite.

Officials said the project "showcases the Stormwater Division's unique public outreach project, which uses custom-designed artwork to help the community better understand subsurface stormwater control measures."

"Her creative approach bridges the gap between technical infrastructure and public awareness through visual storytelling," officials continued.

The award is presented by the New England Stormwater Collaborative.
