Braintree Candidates Forum Next Week

All Braintree candidates will have a chance to speak to the community.

Every candidate in Braintree's local election is invited to speak their mind at a forum at Town Hall on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

The forum, hosted by Town Clerk Joe Powers and the Board of Registrars, will be held in the Cahill Auditorium from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. That day at 8 p.m. is also the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 5 election.

"The format of the forum is simple; each nominated candidate has been invited to attend," Powers said in an email. "Each candidate is given two minutes at the podium to introduce themselves and offer any information they like.

"Direct, personal attacks on other candidates will not be allowed. Candidates will also have the opportunity to bring campaign literature and materials (no signs however) and greet voters at their assigned table in the auditorium."

BCAM will broadcast the event live and will replay it throughout the weeks leading up to Nov. 5.

Candidates and voters can also post information on Braintree's open blog for the 2013 election. Share information on stand-outs, coffee events, fundraisers and whatever else the community should know.
